Comic: Where's My Souvenir?

I wonder what they were supposed to be doing in Korea...
And an old man spinning hula-hoops actually sounds pretty interesting.

Comic: Needs More Than Just Skill, Perhaps?

Looks like all that time spent on PangYa Island made him gain some weight. I could just be seeing things, but he's a little chubby.

Comic: Your Hair is Drooling Again...

The Japanese dictionary said "wearing one's hair in braids (おさげ; osage)". Man-eating hair aside, those aren't actually braids, are they?

Comic: Fa = Duck

As you can see, I've given up editing background sound effects. Too lazy. You'll have to use your imaginations for them at this point. It's not hard to figure out most of them, really.

It's funny how even when you see who it actually is, it doesn't look all that wrong. Kinda creepy, actually.

Comic: I Always Wondered Where Her Nose Was

And we're finally back with the comic! I know I said I'd continue as soon as PangYa US went up, but I've been so addicted with the game I just kept forgetting. We're still releasing them, so isn't that all that really matters? :3

Also, I made changes to previous comics (3, 4, and 6). I changed the names to reflect the Korean originals, since that's what we're using in PangYa US now. Be sure to update your comics if you've been saving them.

News: IT'S BACK!

It's finally been announced: PangYa US will finally be open to play!

(Copy-pasted from the actual announcement on http://pangya.ntreev.net/:)

The Pangya Open Beta Begins on:
Thursday, April 16th, 2009 at 7:00 PM PDT (-7 UTC)

The Albatross 18 Account Migration process will begin on:
Wednesday, April, 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM PDT (-7UTC)

There will be a short Beta Preparation and Migration maintenance on Thursday, April, 16th, 2009 between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM

The Account Migration process will commence again on:
Thursday, April, 16th, 2009 after 7:00 PM PDT (-7UTC)
(There will be a "Recover Account" button on the Official Pangya site. The Actual migration will require a Maintenance)

Servers are opening then and you'll be able to log in and enjoy Pangya in its new home. Starting April, 15th, 2009 at 9:00 PM, you will be able to request recovery of any previous Albatross 18 accounts you may have. The recovery process includes your level, characters, caddies, mascots, items, and gift boxes. Elements such as Pang, records, trophies, guild affiliation, et cetera will NOT be migrated.

The process is simple and will be initiated via the website (http://pangya.ntreev.net/). First, you'll log into your Ntreev USA account (you can create an account if you don't have one yet). Then, provide your Albatross 18 account ID and Date of Birth. Finally, choose whether you would like to keep your old In-Game Name (IGN), or if you'd like to create a new one when you first log in. Please note that if existing IGNs do not adhere to Ntreev USA naming conventions, a rename will be prompted regardless.

Once you have confirmed the transfer, your actual account data will be merged in the next server maintenance.
The first maintenance period scheduled after launch will be held from 12:00 AM ~ 2:00 AM PDT (-7 UTC) on Friday, April 17th
In other words five hours after the game launches. You can play Pangya in the meantime, but please bear in mind this very important warning:

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP SPECIFIC DATA (CHARACTERS/NON-STACKABLE ITEMS/CADDIES/MASCOTS) FROM YOUR ALBATROSS 18 ACCOUNT, DO NOT ACQUIRE THE SAME CONTENT ON YOUR NTREEV USA ACCOUNT!

This means that if you have a set of Medieval clubs fully upgraded on your old Albatross 18 account, DO NOT buy that clubset on your Ntreev USA account! If you do, you'll keep the Ntreev USA version, and the Albatross 18 version will NOT be migrated. The same applies to characters, caddies, masctos, and any other non-stackable items. Stackable items will be merged with your current account, so feel free to buy power potions!

Thank you all very much for your patience during this transition period, we look forward to seeing you all on the greens soon.

Swing for the Heavens!

--Pangya Team

*All dates and times are subject to change, any updates will be announced as soon as possible*

I hope you people remember your birthdays.
Also, I'm glad for this warning. The first thing I would've done is bought Cash Points and buy clothing and stuffs, and I don't even remember what I have.

News: Delays and Good News

Yeah, I realize it's late to be posting both pieces of information that I'm about to share, but I've been debating with myself whether or not I should even bother posting them. Well, this IS a PangYa blog, so I might as well, regardless of how late I am.

First off, as most (if not all) veteran Albatross18 players should know by now, Ntreev USA has officially announced that our old accounts will be successfully moved to our new PangYa home. As a result, due to technical problems and stability issues, there will be a delay in when the servers go up. As long as we don't lose the virtual items we spent real money on, I'd be willing to wait some more weeks. (Although personally, there's some Cash Shop Equipment that I could really do without... I hope for a way to exchange that old stuff for more Cash Points...)
Details of the announcement can be found on the announcement board on Ntreev USA's PangYa Homepage (There's a link on the right if you don't already have the page saved).

Second, I'm putting off posting up our translations of PangYa JP's 4koma series until the PangYa US game server goes up. I need some references from officially-translated stuff from the game such as character backgrounds and items. I realize I could just find a PangYa Wiki out there with that stuff, but I'm lazy and playing other games while I wait for the grand re-opening. Besides, by the time it goes up, there should be more fans around to laugh at the hilarity that is PangYa Comic Theatre.

Comic: Why Would You Use a Toothpick?

I've made slight revisions to the previous comics (namely 2, 3, 6, and 7). Only today I realized that, in Anime Ace font, small "i" and capital "I" are different. If you've been saving our translated comics onto your computer, I suggest going back and re-saving the edited comics. Because of TinyPic, the file naming is kinda weird too, so unless you change the filename when you save the image, I suggest deleting all the comics you've saved so far, then re-saving the updated ones. If you've only just now started reading these comics, disregard this message.

Comic: I Kinda Want That Too...

I tried to photoshop the Japanese text in the bottom panel out to make the hard-sub-transition look a little better than it is in this comic, but it turned out terrible, so I left it as it was. When I think about it, I left it like this for the previous issues as well. Unless someone is willing to help with this little dilemma, I'll just have to leave them as they are.

To think that there are currently 225 issues of this comic series... This should be a good way to pass the time AND enjoy the PangYa experience before the PangYa USA game server is even up. :3

Until we've finally caught up to the most recent issue of the PangYa 4-Panel Comic Theatre, I'll try to post one translated comic a day. With that said, here's issue number two.
